Truck Accident Kills 18-year-old in Escondido

An Escondido truck accident trapped and killed an 18-year-old in her car on Friday evening, when she and a pickup truck crashed into one another at a downtown intersection. The teenager was making a left turn into traffic when she was hit by the pickup truck.

The truck accident took place at one of Escondido’s busy intersections, at Escondido Boulevard and Center City Parkway. The teenage girl was headed westbound and made the turn onto Center City Parkway, and was then hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The time of the accident was around 9 p.m., authorities reported.

The car driven by the teenager contained one passenger, a 16-year-old male, who was injured but survived the crash. The driver of the pickup truck, who is 37, was also injured in the accident.

Semi Trailers Crash, Trapping One In Flames

A San Diego truck accident transpired disastrously Thursday when one man became stuck in a burning semi trailer. The man could not be reached and burned in the truck after it exploded.

On Thursday afternoon, the man’s truck and another truck were driving on Airway Road when they crashed into each another. One of the trucks began burning on impact, leaving its driver in flames without a way to escape. Witnesses say that smoke from the flames were visible miles away from the scene of the accident.

San Diego firefighters arrived on to the accident quickly, but it was impossible to remove the man without first getting rid of the fire. To accomplish that, San Diego firefighters took approximately four or five minutes.

A full report on the man’s burn injuries has not been released. The scene will likely be closed for several hours following the accident itself.

Garbage Truck Accident Kills Boy In San Diego

A garbage truck in San Diego hit a boy crossing the street on Saturday morning in a horrible truck-pedestrian accident. The accident took place at around noon, killing the boy, who would have been turning 3 in the coming months.

On the 1100 Block of South 43rd and Keeler, the young boy ran into the street into the path of the garbage truck. The boy was with his mother, who was placing him into her car alongside his brother. When the boy spotted his father across the street, he ran into traffic too quickly for his mother to stop him.

The truck driver, who according to reports, was moving at 20 miles an hour, is an employee of Allied Waste. He was accompanied by a passenger, a fellow worker. As they continued along the road, the passenger saw the boy run into the street, alerting the driver, but they were unable to stop in time. The garbage truck struck the boy, pinning him below.

The boy died on the scene. According to last reports, authorities are still investigating this garbage truck-pedestrian accident.

Overturned Tanker Explodes in San Diego

A tanker truck overturned and exploded in a region of San Diego known as Otay Mesa last night. According to reports, smoke rose from the tanker for hours following the explosion.

The tanker truck, operated by ARCO gasoline, was holding two tanks as it progressed down the road just before 5:45 pm. While trying to make a wide turn, the tanker partially overturned, the back tank flipping over though the front was unaffected. Witnesses report that the driver exited the vehicle quickly, attacking the flame using a fire extinguisher.

Firefighters responded to the scene of the overturned tanker soon after, but were still dealing with the effects of the fire hours later. For environmental reasons, the firefighters did not use water to extinguish the fire. Instead, they waited until the flames wore down naturally, a process that took until 7 p.m. Even after that, firefighters remained on scene to ensure that the fuel tanks did not re-ignite.

Neither the driver nor the firefighters were injured in the overturned tanker explosion. However, several local businesses and residences were forced to evacuate for safety reasons. In addition, property damage took place on the road and sidewalk surrounding the explosion.

Speeding Causes Head on Collision in Fountain Valley

An Huntington Beach resident sustained serious injury Wednesday afternoon after a head on collision in Fountain Valley. Authorities speculate that the 62-year-old man was speeding prior to veering into opposing traffic and slamming into a pick-up truck. Prior to the accident, Baron L. Mahrling was driving eastbound in his gold 1996 Chevrolet Silverado in Ellis Avenue at approximately 1:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, he accelerated and charged into opposing traffic west of Bushard Street. Mahrling then struck a black 1998 Nissan Frontier truck causing minor injury to 31-year-old Todd B. Gruca. The Silverado continued on across the street, jumped a curb and slammed into a power pole and brick wall. The man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

33-year-old Gustavo Garcia was killed 6:50 am Thursday morning after a tractor-trailer overturned on a North County freeway interchange crushing the sedan he was driving. One Killed After Cement Truck Accident In Escondido

A crash that transpired between a pickup truck and cement truck has killed a South Bay man, according to reports from the CHP. Over the weekend, the 32-year-old South Bay man was driving on an Escondido highway when he collided head-on with an oncoming cement truck. Child Killed in Fresno Pursuit 5th to Die after Police Chase

8-year old Carlos Eric Salazar died at a local hospital Sunday afternoon bringing his personal family death toll to five after a police pursuit where three suspects were also killed. Carlos was one of five siblings who had been thrown clear when a fleeing motorist in a Dodge Neon ran a stop sign and crashed into his family’s pickup truck. The Neon driver, who had carjacked the vehicle, did at the scene as did his two male companions. The vehicular crash occurred after an officer tried to pull the Dodge over for a traffic violation Saturday afternoon. The car sped off and police gave case until it collided with the 1997 Sierra GMC pickup truck carrying a couple and their five children.

29-year-old Carlos Salazar’s Jr., and 26-year-old Jennifer Salazar, the parents of the children, sustained minor to moderate injuries and are currently at Fresno Hospital. None of the truck passengers were thought to be wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.

The closure of a highway lane on Interstate 5 Wednesday morning was caused by a two-vehicle truck accident. At around 9 am, officials were contacted after the truck accident occurred in Oceanside.
