9-Year-Old Hospitalized after Bike Collides with Vehicle

A car-versus-bicycle accident in San Diego left a 9-year-old bloodied and subsequently hospitalized. The accident occurred when the boy, who had been riding his bike in the 1300 block of Tarbox Street, was hit by an oncoming car. The accident itself was reported at 4:45 p.m. in the afternoon. A recent roller coaster accident involving the popular Xcelerator ride at the Knott’s Berry farm amusement park has raised a bit of awareness in regards to recreational park injuries.

The state division of Occupational Safety Health and Buena Vista Park Amusement park will investigate the unfortunate incident and until such time the ride will be closed.

The Xcelerator was not full during the amusement park ride accident and usually seats about 20. It also boasts speeds of 80 mph which it reaches in about 2.3 seconds.

A San Diego car accident involving a 2-year-old boy has left the toddler brain dead. 2 People Struck and Injured in I-15 Accident

2 people performing trash pick up duties were hurt when a car hit them as they were working along I-15 in City Heights Thursday. One of the victims, a Caltrans employee and one of the probationers she was overseeing were seriously injured and taken to area hospitals. They were struck by a 1992 Infiniti J30 that was traveling northbound when it swerved off to the right hand side of the freeway just south of the I-805 interchange. The car collided with the slow-moving Caltrans van on the shoulder shortly after 10:30 a.m. and bounced off the van before sliding into the man and woman that were working in front of it.

The duo was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of major injuries. The driver of the Infiniti, a 50-year-old woman, was taken to neighboring UCSD Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries and released that afternoon. She told Authorities that was reaching for coins in her car prior to the collision.

A three vehicle collision in Anaheim that involved a red Montero Sport SUV, a white Volvo 4-door and a green Ford Ranger ended with few serious complaints after the Ranger rolled over. DUI Suspect Crashes after High Speed Pursuit

A high speed chase that ended in a horrific car crash in Fountain Valley was led by a suspected drunk driver. The individual came to the authorities’ attention after speeding 80 mph past a patrol car and subsequently driving the wrong way on Beach Boulevard. The pursuit began at 2:09 a.m. when a green minivan nearly hit the patrol car because the driver was speeding down the southbound lanes of I-405. The policeman turned on is blue lights and gave chase. Soon afterward, the minivan approached the Edinger Avenue intersection and proceed to head south on the northbound lanes of Beach Avenue.
