One Person Injured in Paragliding Accident at Torrey Pines

A collision between two paragliders close to Torrey Pines ended in one of them being injured, according to reports. The man is at a hospital in stable condition, with trauma in his shoulder and arm.

At around 4:15 p.m., the paragliders glided into each other midair. One of the paragliders, a 39-year-old man, lost control and crashed into a cliff.

The other paraglider was able to make a safe landing without suffering any injuries.

The 39-year-old man was escorted to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego at around 6:15, approximately two hours from the time of the crash.

Home Built Plane Crash at Golf Course Injures Five, One Fatally in San Diego

A military golf course in San Diego was startled on Monday when a small home built plane crashed down on the course near the 11th hole. The home built plane crash resulted in four critical injuries and one death, authorities report.

One witness recounts seeing the small plane flying loudly overhead, only 10 feet above him. In seconds, the plane crashed into the 11th hole on north end of the course. On impacting the ground, the plane flipped before stopping on a slope. The plane crash took place at around 1 p.m. in the afternoon.

The plane contained five occupants at the time it crashed. Two of the occupants were adults, the other three children – a family of 5. One of the adults, a woman, was killed. A man and three children were escorted to the hospital with critical injuries.

Authorities gave linked the cause of the crash to a door that fell from the home built plane while it was en route to Fullerton Municipal Airport.

Bug Bombs Explosion in National City Home Causes 2 Injuries

Bug bombs that were laid down in a National City home were part of an ignition and explosion when it and an unknown flame came into contact. The explosion injured two residents of the home, a father and his son.

According to reports, the explosion took place on Thursday in the early afternoon, around 12:30, at a home near interstate 805. The National City home contained 15 bug bombs in total – 12 or 13 more than the recommended for the size of the home. It is suspected that fumes of the bug bombs were ignited by a water heater, reports said.

In the house at the time of the bug bomb explosion were a family of five, including the father and son who were injured. The two of them were taken to USCD Medical Center, where they will be treated for burn injuries. Along with the injuries, the explosion also caused property damage to the home’s interior.

Teenagers Driving Stolen Cars Get Into San Diego Accident

Driving stolen cars, two teens got into an accident on Thursday in San Diego. Both boys have now been arrested on charges of auto theft and stolen property, after engaging police in a very short police chase through San Diego.

The two teenagers, both male, are aged 14 and 15. They were driving through the Mount Hope neighborhood of San Diego in their stolen cars when a police offer saw them and attempted to stop them, guessing they were too young to drive. The teens attempted to flee from the officer, diverging and speeding through the city for a mile. The teenagers finally crashed into each other, and were caught.

After finally pulling them over, police discovered that the teenagers were both driving stolen cars, both of which were Hondas. One had already been reported stolen, the other had not. Both teens were arrested, but their names not released because of their status as minors.

A worker was killed on Tuesday when he became entangled in an industrial composting machine at a nursery in Oceanside, authorities said. The worker was identified as 56-year-old Manuel Moreno of Valley Center.

The fatal worker accident took place at a nursery in Oceanside, a facility known as the Evergreen Nursery, which is located on the 3200 block on Oceanside Boulevard. The worker accident took place at 9 a.m. when Moreno tried to jump from the machine to the seat of an industrial composting vehicle he was driving. In doing so, he fell.

After Moreno fell, his arm became entangled and the machine pulled him in. The machine then snared Moreno in such a way that it was impossible for him breathe, causing his death.

Drunk Driver Crashes SUV into Home

On Tuesday morning, a suspected drunk driver ran into a home in San Diego, says authorities. The site of the SUV accident was a condo in the College Area.

At around 1:45 in the morning, the SUV crashed into the condo located near Collwood Boulevard and Montezuma Road. Although the crash did cause property damage, none of the residents in the home were injured in the accident. There was at least one person home at the time of the accident, though.

The man who drove the SUV into the condo has been arrested by police as a suspected drunk driver.

Overturned Boat Accident Leaves 2 Dead, Another 2 Missing at Point Reyes

At Point Reyes National Seashore, an overturned boat has resulted in two deaths, officials say. Another two who reportedly were on the boat have not yet been found, and have been declared missing by the Coast Guard.

The boat capsized at Point Reyes at around noon on Wednesday. It was a 24-foot vessel being used as a pleasure craft. Traveling near the shore, it overturned in surf waters.

Upon receiving the call and arriving to the scene, the Coast Guard located two of the passengers of the boat. Both were not wearing life jackets, and were pronounced dead on shore. Two other passengers are yet to be found, but the search is continuing.

An accident on West Mission Bay Drive in San Diego killed a 50-year-old man, according to reports. An investigation has suggested that man was undergoing some type of medical problem when the accident took place.

The man was driving through the Mission Beach area in San Diego when he suddenely lost control of his car. At the time, he was on West Mission Bay Drive near Ingraham Street. At around 8:30 a.m., he crashed his car into a guardrail on the side of the road.

Paramedics reported to the accident and pronounced the 50-year-old dead on the scene. He was the only injured person in the car accident.

Fireworks Accident in San Marcos Injures Four

One of San Marcos’s 4^th of July celebrations this past weekend was a cause of serious concern after several people in the vicinity of a fireworks display were injured. According to reports, the injured included four adults, one of whom was hospitalized after the fireworks accident.

The San Marcos fireworks display was administered by a professional company, but a misfire took place during one of the launches of the display. As a result of the misfire, the table holding the fireworks overturned, pointing the fireworks away from their intended direction. The fireworks shot away from the crowd, but four people were still injured.

Car Hits Crowd In 4th of July Accident

A would-be joyful fireworks event this past Sunday, on the evening of the 4^th of July, went wrong when a car crashed into the middle of the crowd. At least 6 people were injured, and one killed in the unfortunate 4^th of July accident.

The accident took place at a shopping center in Santa Clarita, in an area known as Valencia Crossroads. At the time, the city of Santa Clarita was hosting a fireworks display that drew more than 20,000 people into a crowded shopping center.

Reportedly, the car went flying towards the area after running a red light and hitting another vehicle. The car then hit the curb, flipped, and went airborne. It landed in the middle of a crowd of spectators that contained the family of Matilda Garnica Juarez, who died in the accident.

Juarez, mother of three, is a resident of the area and was at the event with two of her children and four nieces when the car came crashing in. Both of her children were injured in the accident, one critically. The woman’s nieces were also injured, and all hospitalized.

The 4^th of July accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Right now, nothing indicates that the crash was affected by driving under the influence (DUI).
