After buying ice cream, the 8-year-old headed to his grandmother’s. A driver in a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck struck the boy, sending him 50 feet away. According to a witness, the hit and run driver left the scene of the accident without doing anything. The truck had magnetic business signs on its sides.

California Highway Patrol and medical teams reported to the scene of the accident on Saturday, transporting the boy to Loma Linda with head injuries. Officials are asking anyone with information to report it to authorities straightaway.

The woman had been drinking before she was struck by the car on Broadway Street in San Diego. At around 8:50 p.m., a car hit her as she crossed Broadway Street near where it intersects with East Park Avenue. At around 3:33 in the morning, CHP received reports that a man was spotted running across highway SR 67 through the northbound lanes in the direction of the southbound lanes. Only minutes after those reports came in, the man was struck and killed by a car. The name of the man who was hit has not yet been released.

Initially, the pedestrian was traveling down the road in the bicycle lane on Pershing Drive. Without warning, he ran from the bicycle lane into the street towards the vehicles traveling on Florida Drive. So far, the reason for this sudden dangerous movement remains unknown.

On the 1100 Block of South 43rd and Keeler, the young boy ran into the street into the path of the garbage truck. The boy was with his mother, who was placing him into her car alongside his brother. When the boy spotted his father across the street, he ran into traffic too quickly for his mother to stop him.

The truck driver, who according to reports, was moving at 20 miles an hour, is an employee of Allied Waste. He was accompanied by a passenger, a fellow worker. As they continued along the road, the passenger saw the boy run into the street, alerting the driver, but they were unable to stop in time. The garbage truck struck the boy, pinning him below.

The boy died on the scene. According to last reports, authorities are still investigating this garbage truck-pedestrian accident.
