Escondido Woman Killed In Pedestrian Accident with Car

A woman crossing the street in Escondido was hit by a car late in the day on Saturday, authorities said. She died in a hospital on Sunday while receiving treatment for injuries received in the pedestrian accident.
The woman had been drinking before she was struck by the car on Broadway Street in San Diego. At around 8:50 p.m., a car hit her as she crossed Broadway Street near where it intersects with East Park Avenue. The car was a Honda Civic headed northbound, driven by a 41-year-old driver, who was neither drinking nor otherwise under the influence when the pedestrian accident occurred.
The 55-year-old woman was taken to a hospital late on Saturday night, but died only hours later, early on Sunday morning.
