An El Cajon crash on State Route 67 in San Diego ended fatally for one man, a pedestrian, on Sunday morning. The crash was a hit and run, and is currently under investigation by local police.
At around 3:33 in the morning, CHP received reports that a man was spotted running across highway SR 67 through the northbound lanes in the direction of the southbound lanes. Only minutes after those reports came in, the man was struck and killed by a car. The name of the man who was hit has not yet been released.
The driver of the car, which was gray in color and missing one of its mirrors, left the scene of the pedestrian accident. Police are currently searching for the driver, and shut down the road for several hours while investigating.
