A 15 Car Pileup In San Diego last week ended in three injuries, according to reports from the San Diego Police Department. The multi-vehicle accident that began as a police chase ended in a crowded parking lot, where both the patrol car and the suspect’s vehicle crashed into as many as 13 other cars.
Around 4:30 in the morning was when police officers first attempted to apprehend the suspect, who was parked in a pickup truck on Van Dyke Avenue. Refusing to comply with the police officers, the suspect fled the scene. From here, a high speed chase ensued, at several times reaching speeds up to 80 mph.
Passing through Altadena and Orange, the suspect ran a stop sign and crashed into one of the police officer’s vehicles. Upon impact, both tire and hood were stripped from the patrol car — and the suspect‘s vehicle began spinning circles. While spinning, other cars became involved and the suspect was ejected from his vehicle, sustaining serious injuries.
