Car gets Stuck on Pole after Collision with On-Ramp Meter Light

An early morning Costa Mesa car accident resulted in a collision between a gold Toyota Corolla and a freeway on-ramp meter light. The crash, which occurred at the Southbound 405 freeway near Harbor Boulevard, left the vehicle stuck on the utility pole with exposed wire hanging out of it. The CHP called an official out to the scene to turn off electricity to the meter so the car could be removed. It was around 5 a.m. when the male motorist, who was driving too fast for early morning rainy weather, slid on the road and hit the light. The Corolla driver suffered minor injuries sustained when the airbag deployed.
Although the injuries were minor, the situation could have been much worse, especially if the air bag a failed to function. Interestingly enough, air bags may not operate as intended a huge portion of the time. This can lead to preventable death and injury.
