1 Injured Among Hikers Rescued By San Diego Helicopter Crew
Sep 8th, 2009 by RichmondJ
A San Diego helicopter crew was taken to Solona Beach in order to rescue several individuals from a cliff. The hikers had chosen to advance into a treacherous area of Solana Beach but became trapped in a cliff, according to reports. A teenage girl accompanied by herr two friends fell, suffering injuries to her back and neck. This left the three teens stuck near the San Elijo Lagoon in need of help. The only feasible means of rescuing the three teens was a helicopter, as due to the structure of the cliff, a haul line would have jeopardized safety even further. A helicopter from San Diego arrived at the scene, lifting the injured girl and her friends into safety. The injured girl was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
