Pedestrian Accident Injures 1 In Encinitas

A crash on Highway 101 in Encinitas has sent a pedestrian into the hospital with major injuries. The pedestrian accident, which occurred on Friday night, was located just off of 101 near Marcheta Street. In the accident, an unnamed pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, for reasons unreported, at around 9pm. Injuries sustained in the accident left the pedestrian unconscious, according to witnesses, and the injured was flown from the scene for prompt treatment. The accident also closed down the highway while investigation ensued.
