Patroling San Diego Deputies Crash into each Other
Aug 11th, 2009 by ANorman
Two Imperial Beach deputies crashed their ATV’s into one another while performing routine patrols. Although both were wearing helmets, one of the officers sustained a head injury and a concussion. The accident occurred as the two officers were riding down a surface street on the way to the beach. The deputy in the lead stopped suddenly and the deputy in the rear hit the back of the ATV. The man in front then fell to the ground landing on his head and arm. Injured, the fallen deputy was taken to the hospital but was released this afternoon.
Accidents like the one described above are quite common and can happen on the job or at play. When accidents that produce injuries occur it is best not to take anything for granted. The above officer, while being released, could have sustained brain damage that is degenerative and not readily detected. That is why it is a good idea to keep all pertinent accident related info on hand in case civil litigation is in order. When you have been hurt in an accident, don’t play arm chair attorney.
