No Charges Result From April Bus Accident

According to Associated Press, the prosecutor says that no charges will result from the bus accident that took place in Sierra Nevada this past April. As many as 26 passengers in Squaw Creek suffered personal injury from the bus accident, including 2 passengers who were killed. The driver operating the bus when it crashed near the Nevada-California state line was in threat of criminal charges following the accident. Bill Cornell, a district attorney in Nevada County, determined that there was inadequate proof supporting that the driver was criminal in this accident. Although it was determined that the driver, 66, was asleep at the wheel of the bus, it was not grounds for vehicular manslaughter. In actual fact, it was concluded that the bus accident was caused by a sudden lane change.
