Escondido House Fire Called Suspicious
Aug 17th, 2009 by RichmondJ
A fire that blazed a home in Escondido has been deemed suspicious by the firefighters who battled its flames, an official reported. The fire was reported at 1:35 am at a location south of East Mission Avenue on Ash Street. When firefighters responded to the call, they found significant flames in the home, especially in the garage and kitchen. Firefighters contained the fire quickly, but were suspicious as its cause could not be found.
According to a fire official, there was no indication of an electrical problem, carelessness, or other cause. However, it was discovered that home’s former occupant, a renter, had just moved out the day before. The previous renter was at the fire, apparently after being contacted by the neighbor. The fire caused property damage that has been assessed at an estimated $65,000, mostly occurring in the garage and kitchen areas of the home.
