Bus Accident On Route 76 In North County San Diego

Two people were injured when a car and bus collided on Route 76 yesterday. A man, 23 from Helmet, was traveling in a car through North County San Diego when, for unknown reasons, he drifted lanes on the highway. A vehicle in an adjacent lane, a North County Transit District bus, was struck by the the man’s car, a Chrysler Sebring. Officials removed the man from the vehicle upon arriving at the scene, and he was then transported to the hospital. The bus contained nine passengers, one of which was injured, though insubstantial. The bus took on some damage as well during the crash.
California Highway Patrol closed down Route 76 while the bus accident was investigated. Following investigation, officials reported that drugs were involved in this crash.
