Woman Leaves Injured Companion Behind after Garden Grove Accident

A suspected drunk driver struck two women that were crossing the street, injuring both. The male driver, who was traveling west on Westminster Avenue, hit the women as they were crossing Harbor Boulevard just after 10 p.m. Monday evening. Both ladies were heading towards a McDonald’s parking lot where someone was waiting to pick them up. The less seriously injured victim left her injured acquaintance at the scene after hopping into the waiting car.
The left behind victim was taken to the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange County where she is being treated for multiple fractures. The driver, who remained on the scene, was charged with driving under the influence and taken into custody. The whereabouts of the other victim where not known at press time.

Thankfully the driver remained on the scene and the police arrived to aid the woman that w as left behind.
