Two wildfires that erupted near San Diego county were well-handled by fire crews yesterday. According to Sgt. Jesse Lora, the fire burned through nearly 1300 acres at the Camp Pendleton Marine base, but was 50 percent contained yesterday. The second fire blazed near a shooting rage after starting Monday, at a location northeast of Escondido. The second blaze may have threatened close by structures although it was stopped in ample time.
Fires are a growing problem for local fire departments, hospitals, and insurance companies alike, as these events can have damaging effects in many areas.
