A Santa Ana traffic accident resulted in multiple car collisions that involved a taxi cab and three other automobiles. The incident occurred on the southbound lanes of the 55 freeway just north of MacArthur Boulevard at 12: 38 p.m. blocking several lanes of traffic. The accident ensnared a yellow taxi, a black SUV and two other automobiles. Clean up went relatively quickly however and the lanes were cleared by 12:56 p.m.
At least one person was taken to a local area hospital. The condition of the others drivers or the extent of injuries were not known at press time.
More and more multiple vehicle accidents are happening every day and the cause is clear. Driver distraction rates are rising, what with the use of cell phone use during driving. Other causes, like road rage or simple driver negligence could be the culprit. Considering that 95 percent of all auto accidents are due to driver error, one can reasonably assume someone was doing something they were not supposed to when the above tragedy occurred.
