Pickup Truck Driver arrested for Hwy 91 Crash
Jul 3rd, 2009 by ANorman
An apparently drunk truck driver swerved out of the eastbound Express Lanes of the 91 freeway lane and collided into at least three other vehicles. The wreck occurred just after 2 p.m. near Gypsum Canyon road with authorities reaching the crash site at about 3:45 p.m. The auto accident shut down toll lanes as well as two other traffic lanes, but traffic was able to move within the hour.
At least one person was taken to the hospital and the truck driver was immediately arrested following the incident on suspicion of drunk driving. Clean up was also eventful, as the truck had been carrying a load of nails which spilled onto the roadway. The California Highway Patrol had to obtain a special magnet to clean up the nails.
Drunk and otherwise impaired drivers cause tremendous amounts of damage to our roads, property and most alarming of all, to innocent drivers and pedestrians.
