Local Orange County Residents Apprehend Fleeing DUI Suspect
Jul 30th, 2009 by ANorman
In Trabuco Canyon, a man suspected of drunk driving crashed into a light pole early this morning and tired to flee the scene. The accident happened at 1:49 a.m. after a dark-colored Scion XB crashed into a pole on Oso parkway and Altura. The driver of the Scion reportedly took off on foot and ended up in the backyard of a house.
The homeowners detained the driver and called the authorities, holding the man there until the cops arrived. The individual was hurt and the driver was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo at 2:42 a.m., where it was ascertained that his injuries were far from serious. A blood tech then tested his blood alcohol level because of suspected intoxication. The man was charged and booked at the Orange County Jail.
This above scenario could have been far worse if the driver had hit a human being or another vehicle and not a pole. If this had hoccurred people could have been seriously injured or worse, killed. Family members would then be left grieving and trying to pick up the pieces after such a tragedy. If a drunk driver has injured you or taken a loved one away, you do have legal options.
