A fifty-year-old pedestrian that was struck down and killed by a hit-and-run driver remains unidentified. The man was hit by a truck while traveling on Laguna Canyon Road in the early morning hours. The crash was first reported at 3:25 a.m. in the northbound lanes of 133. Police searched an area that included the 73 toll road in an attempt to locate the victim’s car but authorities were unable to find it.
Officials do not know why the victim was walking along the side of the road but are investigating. They are also on the look out for the pick up driver who was simply described as a Fountain Valley resident.
The most tragic aspect of this case is that the victim’s family, when notified, will learn that their loved one was killed and that the driver fled the scene. Left without answers, their grief will be even more profound. Once the driver is located however, surviving family members can seek justice via a wrongful death lawsuit. If you have lost a family member to someone else’s reckless behavior, you too can file a wrongful death claim.
