A car that rose in flames on an Escondido freeway caused a car accident between several vehicles, although no one was injured. According to California Highway Patrol, the car was fully engulfed in flames as it traveled down I-15, a freeway in Escondido. The fiery accident left many of the freeway lanes closed for a while, but CHP cleared the lanes by around 8:30 am.
The accident itself occurred around 7:40 on northbound I-15, just south of the ramp to Highway 78. A SigAlert for the Tuesday morning crash was set in place at 7:47, sending an ambulance to the scene even though no one required medical attention, said Escondido authorities.
