2 Million Dollars Awarded In Wrongful Death Case
Jul 30th, 2009 by RichmondJ
One family in Vista was on the receiving end of a 2 million dollar judgment awarded by jury in a wrongful death case. The widow of a man who died when his golf cart fell into a cliff sued for wrongful death and finally received the aforementioned verdict, over 2 years after the accident took place in May 2007. Although it was determined that the golfer was partially responsible, the family will still receive a sizable reward for the wrongful death accident. Two years ago, on May 22 2007, Edwin Pay, 65, lost control of his golf cart and fell down a cliff, landing into Old Highway 395. According to the claims made in Payne’s offense, the golf resort was improperly maintained in terms of its structure, negligence which resulted in Payne’s death.
In cases such as this one, wrongful death refers to a death that resulted from the negligence of another, or in this case, the golf resort. If you have been affected in an accident that may have been caused by negligence, it is important that you consult with an attorney in your area to be given advice about your case.
