San Diego County Experiences First Swine Flu Death
Jun 23rd, 2009 by RichmondJ
San Diego County’s first swine flu fatality was reported last week Tuesday, according to local San Diego County health officials. The victim, aged 20, was 1 of 275 confirmed swine flu cases in San Diego County. The victim was apparently one of the later recipients of the swine flu, becoming sick just this weekend much after many other cases of swine flu had already occurred. San Diego County was the location of some of the first swine flu cases in the country, but yet this was the first death across the entire county. According to a county health officer, the woman died within 24 hours of getting sick. As a whole, the state of California has had 7 total swine flu deaths out of the nation’s 44, said Wooten, a county health officer.
